Andrea Arnold recently confirmed that her next film would be the Scarlett Johannson-starring “Featherwood.” In January, she was already location scouting the project.
A grid on Production List now has the film starting production in September. No word yet on the rest of the cast. Expect a 2026 release for this one - maybe even a Cannes premiere.
“Featherwood” tackles real-life FBI informant Carol Blevins, a heroin addict and “Aryan Princess featherwood” (property of a gang member) who became one of the FBI’s most important informants during an epic, six-year investigation into the murderous, neo-Nazi crime and drug syndicate known as the Aryan Brotherhood Of Texas.
Arnold’s last film, “Bird,” starring Barry Keoghan and Franz Rogowski, premiered at last year’s Cannes and was released in December. It turned out to be the most divisive of her career. Arnold is the filmmaker behind acclaimed films such as “Fish Tank,” “American Honey” and “Red Road.”
