14 Great Movies with “Rotten” Scores

April 6, 2020 Jordan Ruimy

For a film to be "rotten" on Rotten Tomatoes it has to have a score of under 60%. Because of that, it was actually tough to find 10 “classic” movies which are still rotten. These are all still below 60%, but as time passes they will more than likely move towards that 60 percent fresh spot. For now, they belong on this list.

This is a before/after screenshot of Rotten Tomatoes’ purge of “troll” user reviews for “Captain Marvel,” which led to the review aggregate site deleting, from what I was told, close to half of the reviews they deemed to be by “trolls” of the Marvel film. The user score went from 32% to 60% due to the actions that were taken. Actual critic tomato-meter seems unchanged.

Media Claims Captain Marvel Is Being Review Bombed By Trolls/Fanboys, Even Though There Are No Reviews

February 21, 2019 Jordan Ruimy

I’ll admit it, I was one of the journalists suckered by the rumor that Captain Marvel, the upcoming blockbuster from Marvel Studios, was being review bombed by fanboys. I should have known better.

Director Matthew Cullen on his 0% Rotten 'London Fields': “I’ve read the reviews. I agree with them.”

November 1, 2018 Jordan Ruimy

Director Mathew Cullen's "London Fields'  was delayed for more than three years before finally being released this past Friday. Cullen’s feature film debut had what The Playlist dubbed as one of the worst box office debuts in history, not to mention its 0% score on Rotten Tomatoes -- suffice to say, you don't want to be Mathew Cullen right now. Not just that,  he is also contractually obligated to do press for the film. And so, with all being said, do you blame him for admitting that, yeah, the bad reviews are well-deserved?  Yep, in a new interview, Cullen not only agrees with that 0% RT score, but he also says that he should be the scapegoat for the film’s failure.
