‘Jurassic World Rebirth' First Reactions Filled With Usual Hyperbolic Nonsense

June 18, 2025 Jordan Ruimy

Early social media reactions to films are increasingly becoming a distortion of actual cinematic merit, and it’s time we stop pretending they hold any real critical weight. World premieres now double as influencer events, where invited guests—many of whom are more concerned with keeping studio invites than offering honest opinions—flood X with hyperbolic praise the moment the credits roll.

It’s a game of hype inflation, where even mediocre films are branded as “masterpieces” before general audiences or critics have had a proper look. These reactions aren’t reviews; they’re marketing in disguise, and anyone taking them as serious critical barometers is being willfully naive.

With that said, the usuals have now weighed in on “Jurassic World Rebirth,” and that means, much to Universal’s delight, outlets have picked up on it with hyperbolic headlines such as Digital Spy’s “Jurassic World” Called A “Roaring Triumph” in First Reactions, and NME’s First Reactions Praise “Majestic” New Film. The jig is up with this nonsense.
