Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” has now been in production for almost three weeks. I’ve added a few on-set photos, including our first look at Tom Holland who resembles Frodo Baggins.
Seriously though, it does look as though Holland will portray Telemachus, son of Odysseus and Penelope in Greek mythology. In Homer’s Odyssey he embarks on a journey to find his father, who has been missing for many years after the Trojan War.
Matt Damon is probably playing Odysseus, and that’s the lead role. No word yet on Penelope, but it’s gotta be either Anne Hathaway or Charlize Theron.
I’m no historian, but is that a Norwegian Viking-era boat? The film is supposed to be set in Ancient Greece. Not to say that Nolan is aiming for 100% historical accuracy in this movie, but it’s something that stood out for me.
‘The Odyssey’ is reported to be Nolan’s most expensive movie ever, with a reported budget of $250M. Filming is set to continue until late April in Greece, Morocco and Italy.
