We have proof of life. Gareth Evans’ “Havoc” actually exists. Not just that, a trailer just popped online. Netflix has also dated the film for April 25, 2025 release.
Shot in 2021, “Havoc” underwent reshoots in July 2024, but it’s finally ready to be seen. Based on the trailer, it might have actually been worth the wait. This very much looks like a Gareth Evans movie.
“Havoc” Tom Hardy, Forest Whitaker, Luis Guzman, and Timothy Olyphant. Evans is the filmmaker behind both ‘Raid’ films, 2018’s “Apostle” and the 2020 series “Gangs of London.” He’s well-known for his visceral and blood-soaked style of filmmaking.
Why did it take almost four years for this film to finally be released? We’re not entirely sure. Reshoots occurred more than 3 years after production had originally wrapped — Evans recently hinted that this wide gap between production dates might have had to do with failure to align all of the actors’ schedules.
Here’s the “Havoc” synopsis:
After a drug deal goes awry, a detective must fight his way through a criminal underworld to rescue a politician's estranged son, while untangling his city's dark web of conspiracy and corruption.
