Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook is praising Robert Pattinson's performance as the lead in Bong Joon ho’s “Mickey 17.” Pattinson plays various different incarnations of the same character in Bong’s sci-fi film.
Park, known for “Oldboy” and “'The Handmaiden,” wrote: “If you want to know why the sci-fi genre is necessary in the world, watch “Mickey 17!” He also urged the Academy to award Pattinson both Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor for his dual roles in the film.
“Mickey 17” has been getting good reviews, on the same level as his two previous English-language films (“Snowpiercer” and “Okja”) but nowhere near the same level of acclaim as his Palme d’Or and Oscar winning “Parasite.”
