According to Variety, Christopher Nolan is committing to authenticity. “The Odyssey” will be partly filmed in a little island in Sicily which, according to scholars, was the location Homer envisioned for Odysseus’ landing in the epic. They will shoot on Favignana, known as “goat island,” where Odysseus would have landed with his crew to barbecue goats and stock up on food. Filming on “The Odyssey” is set to begin next week in Morocco and the UK.
