‘A Quiet Place Part II' Release Delayed Due to Coronavirus

March 12, 2020 Jordan Ruimy

Another domino fell in the movie industry today as the release of John Krasinski’s much-anticipated horror-sequel “A Quiet Place Part II,” which was set to be released on March 20th, has been delayed to an undetermined date due to Covid-19 Coronavirus fears.

Krasinski, who directed both films, which star his real-life wife, Emily Blunt,.made the announcement on social media, indicating that the outbreak made it a very difficult time for people to gather in theaters to watch his horror film.

This is now the third delay for a major American release after MGM and United Artists' decided to move their James Bond installment “No Time to Die” from early April to November and Sony delayed “Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway” to an unannounced date.

Will theaters start closing shop as well? That’s the fear the industry currently has as it stands to lose billions due to the Covid-19 Coronavirus. Bans for gatherings of 100, 200, 300+ people will start to emerge all over the country which means that movie theaters will surely get hit hard once the spreading of this virus becomes too complicated to contain for U.S. authorities (which seems to be a matter of when and not if).
