Vince Gilligan’s ‘Breaking Bad’ Sequel Will Premiere on Netflix

February 13, 2019 Jordan Ruimy

Vince Gilligan‘s movie follow-up to “Breaking Bad.” will air on AMC but it will premiere on Netflix.  THR is also reporting that Aaron Paul is confirmed to return to the role of Jesse Pinkman, who has been kidnapped and will try to escape in this movie.

Gilligan will most likely be directing the film according to sources, as well as writing with Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein and executive producing too.

A few months back we were one of the first sites to report that Vince Gilligan was going to shoot a “Breaking Bad” movie in New Mexico. However, there wasn’t much to report beyond that, no plot details were mentioned. Bryan Cranston's Walter White died in the series finale and I had mentioned that, if a film were to be made, chances are it could revolve around Aaron Paul's Jesse Pinkman.

We later confirmed, through Revenge of the Fans, that the cast of the aptly-titled Greenbrier will include several key Breaking Bad players, including Jonathan Banks (Mike), Jesse Plemons (Todd), Charles Baker (Skinny Pete), Matt Jones (Badger), Robert Forster (Ed, aka The Disappearer), Tess Harper (Mrs. Pinkman), and Kevin Rankin (Kenny).

And two names sure to excite Breaking Bad fans: Krysten Ritter (who played Jane), and “Mr. White” himself, Bryan Cranston.

Both characters died during the series, so maybe this is a sequel and a prequel mixed into a hybrid of some sort. Who knows, but this has just skyrocketed into the top of our must-see lists for 2019, or maybe 2020, depending on when shooting wraps.
