Earlier today, I reported that Daniel Craig and Cillian Murphy were in talks to star in Damien Chazelle’s upcoming film — a development that has now been officially confirmed by the trades.
Chazelle’s upcoming project will feature the two stars, and it is indeed going to be his next film. The untitled project, which Chazelle wrote and will direct, will take place in a prison setting.
Should the deals be finalized, filming is expected to begin later this year. Chazelle had been considering multiple scripts in recent months, including a potential Evel Knievel biopic with Leonardo DiCaprio in talks to star. However, Deadline reports that the deal fell through. It’s quite possible DiCaprio asked for too much money.
