“Megalopolis” won’t be given a 4K release in North America; if you want it on disc, you’ll have to import it from overseas. Lionsgate is refusing to give it a physical release. Which means that if you want to purchase the film on 4K disc or Blu-Ray, the European SKUs are the only way to go.
To make matters worse, “Megalopolis” is no longer available on Digital in the U.S. It got pulled from every VOD platform, and there’s no information on when, or even if, will ever return.
So, just to be clear, not only are you not able to stream “Megalopolis” anywhere, but you won’t either be able to buy a physical release of it? The only way to currently watch “Megalopolis” would be via illegal means on Torrents sites.
I asked around about a potential Criterion release, and a source tells me that there had been talks between Criterion and Coppola, but that nothing materialized out of it. What exactly is Coppola demanding from Criterion? If I were him, I’d just let them do whatever they want with it.
