PTA’s ‘One Battle After Another’ Test Screening Again This Week

Just a brief tackling. Maybe you heard the rumors, but I can confirm that Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” is indeed test screening on March 5. I won’t mention the location, since that could risk cancelation of the screening, but it’s out there on the internet, and very easy to find.

I would imagine Warner Bros is still trying to figure out when to release “One Battle After Another.” It currently has an August 2025 date, but it will most likely be moved from the calendar, especially with a now rumored Venice Film Festival premiere in September. However, what I am hearing is that the Venice screening would be a one-off and that PTA might skip screening the film at Telluride and Toronto.

It was recently reported that, internally, Warner Bros film heads Pam Abdy and Michael De Luca, who invested well over $140M+ on PTA’s latest, believe the film has the potential to earn $180M domestically — I don’t see that happening unless it aims for a holiday release, presumably Christmas 2025. We’ll see what Warner Bros decides when it comes to this film, but it’s almost definitely not coming out in August.
