After Alicia Vikander dropped out as co-lead of M. Night Shyamalan’s “Remain,” another actress is now in talks to replace her in the “romantic thriller.” Phoebe Dynevor (“Bridgerton”) has been offered a role, alongside Jake Gyllenhaal.” A summer shoot is being eyed on the film.
The film is based on an original story co-created by Shyamalan and bestselling author Nicholas Sparks (“The Notebook”). The DP on this one is Adolpho Veloso, who shot the acclaimed “Train Dreams,” which premiered in January at Sundance
Last year, Shyamalan’s “Trap” earned $83M at the box office, and that’s against a production budget of $30M. It helps that the filmmaker self-finances every film he makes, and this latest one seems to be no exception to the rule. Warner Bros is in discussion to distribute.
