James Cameron, not one to back off from hyperbole, has been banging the drums hard for his upcoming “Avatar: Fire and Ash” these last few weeks.
Cameron recently stated that he believed the film to be the best of the ‘Avatar’ franchise, and that he had so many great ideas for it that it’ll probably be longer than the last one, which clocked in at a whopping 3 hours 12 minutes. Now he’s adding a new story to the mix, and this one’s a real doozy.
Turns out Cameron’s wife, Suzy, saw a version of ‘Fire and Ash’ late last year, and – per her filmmaker husband – was completely overwhelmed with emotion, to the point where she was left speechless, unable to talk due to bawling her eyes out, for nearly four hours. lol.
Apparently, audiences need to bring lots of Kleenex for this film (via Empire).
“My wife watched the whole thing from end to end — she had kept herself away from it and I wasn’t showing her bits and pieces as we went along. This was December 22nd,” Cameron recalls. The reaction? “She bawled for four hours.” So much so that Cameron couldn’t even get proper feedback from her. “She kept trying to get her shit back together so she could tell me specific reactions, and then she’d just tear up and start crying again. Finally, I’m like, ‘Honey, I’ve got to go to bed. Sorry, we’ll talk about it some other time’.”
Honey, try to compose yourself, Jimmy’s going to sleep.
Such incredible motivation to keep on crying for four straight hours. Don’t the tear ducts eventually dry up? The amount of emotional stamina is damn-near impressive.
