Joseph Kosinski’s UFO Whistleblower Film Sparks Nine-Studio Bidding War

Following “Top Gun: Maverick” and “F1,” Joseph Kosinski has now found his next project, and it’s sparking the interest of multiple studios.

The project is being described in pitches as a “UFO disclosure-themed take on All the President’s Men.” Kosinski will direct from a script by Zach Baylin (“King Richard”), and with Jerry Bruckheimer producing.

No surprise, the project has sparked a bidding war with, at least, nine studios, including Amazon, Apple, Universal, Sony, Lionsgate, Paramount and Warner Bros in the mix. THR‘s sources describe bidding as having escalated “quickly and aggressively.”

Kosinski is said to be going for “authenticity” in his pitch to studios. Former United States Air Force officer – and UFO whistleblower – David Grusch has been acting as a consultant on the project. In 2023, Grusch testified before Congress that the government has been studying the spacecraft and bodies of aliens, while also suppressing the information from reaching the public.

Note: If you want to listen to a wild conversation then check out Grusch’s recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Podcast, and come to your own conclusions as to whether Grusch is full of sh*t or is legitimately telling the truth about what could potentially be one of the most significant government cover-ups in history.

As mentioned, Kosinski has his $300M+ costing “F1,” starring Brad Pitt, coming out in the summer. He’s brought his ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ cinematographer, Claudio Miranda, along for the ride on that one. Apple is producing, and Warner Bros is in charge of distribution.

Before “Top Gun: Maverick,” Kosinski was mostly known for directing the Tom Cruise starring sci-fi film “Oblivion,” “Tron: Legacy” and “Only the Brave.” He also helmed the 2022 Netflix clunker “Spiderhead.”

Regardless, ever since ‘Maverick,’ Kosinski’s stock has risen, and he’s become one of the most sought-after blockbuster filmmakers in the industry. The heated interest in his UFO project only further proves just how badly studios are willing to work with Kosinski. Oh, and don’t be surprised if Tom Cruise suddenly becomes attached to star in this one.
