A24 to Helm Zachary Wigon's ‘Victoria Psycho' Starring Margaret Qualley

December 20, 2024 Jordan Ruimy

Deadline is reporting that A24 has acquired the rights to “Victorian Psycho,” starring Margaret Qualley, which is scheduled to begin filming in March.

Zachary Wigon is directing from a screenplay written by author Virginia Feito (“Mrs. March”), and based on her upcoming novel of the same name. This will be a reunion between Wigon and Qualley, as she also starred in his most recent film, “Sanctuary.”

Set In 1858, Qualley will play a young, eccentric governess, with hidden “psychotic tendencies,” named Winifred Notty who arrives at a remote gothic mansion. As Winifred assimilates into life at the home, staff members begin to inexplicably disappear, and the owners of the estate begin to wonder if there is something amiss about their new governess.

Thomasin Mckenzie will be playing a nursemaid who befriends the eccentric new Governess. This will be Wigon’s third feature-length film, after 2014’s “The Heart Machine” and 2022’s “Sanctuary”
