‘Kraven the Hunter' BOMBS With $11M Weekend

December 15, 2024 Jordan Ruimy

Looks like “Kraven the Hunter” will have an $11M weekend. A catastrophic number for the $110M film. Sony's put out so many poor movies under their Spider-Man universe that people took a wait-and-see approach for this one. What clinched its fate was when the reviews finally came out, on Wednesday, and they were almost all bad.

Those who did pay to see ‘Kraven’ were unimpressed. The film garnered a terrible “C” on CinemaScore, 5.5/10 on IMDb and 59% Positive on PostTrak. Things have gotten so bad for the film that Deadline is reporting Sony cut back on their P&A spend for ‘Kraven’ heading into the weekend, including opting not to air some pre-booked TV spots.

In case you’re wondering about other titles, “Moana 2” topped the box office again, with a $26.7M weekend — it has made well over $720M worldwide. “Wicked” was #2 at $22.5M. Meanwhile, “Gladiator II” earned $7.8M and currently stands at $398M worldwide.

Lastly, the re-release of Christopher Nolan’s “Interstellar” continues to do incredible numbers. Paramount and IMAX have capitalized on the overwhelming demand from the public by expanding its domestic screen count to 320 this weekend, which helped it gross an impressive $3.5M domestically and $3.75m globally.
