Writer-Director Matthew Wilder, who wrote Paul Schrader’s delightful “Dog Eat Dog,” has seen “The Master Gardener” and had this to say about it [via his Instagram]:
“Very glad to see that our friend Paul Schrader is receiving a Lifetime Achievement Golden Lion at Venice, and also is going to premiere his MASTER GARDENER, a rich and strange work that I think is totally original, totally against the grain and something you will love.“
After “First Reformed” and “The Card Counter,” Schrader will be completing his Bressonian trilogy with “The Master Gardener.” It will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September before heading out to the other big fall festivals.
Wilder shows up every once in a while on this site’s comments section, maybe he’ll have more to say about this one — if he’s even allowed to divulge anything.
